The »pearl« among the lightweight drapery fabrics. Two natural fibres unite here to create an effective lightweight look. This fabric injects colour into the interior without it becoming visually overbearing. To achieve this coloured cotton threads run across Alma’s delicate, plain-coloured, linen ground weave that look like strings of beads thanks to their regular array. As a young, contemporary take on the classic bouclé effect, this fluffy yarn brings sophisticated three-dimensionality into modern living room designs.

Cool Wool. Arik is a natural talent. Both lightweight, rugged with 35,000 Martindale rubs and easy-care it serves both as an elegant upholstery fabric and as a furnishing fabric with a beautiful drape and attractive reverse. Made of 100% wool it controls moisture and heat and can therefore contribute to the improvement of the indoor climate. With its soft feel it is also pleasant to touch. The cubic-abstract all-over design thrives on the contrast between warp and weft and – depending on the colour combination – produces either a modern Scandinavian effect or a charming retro look.

To the point. These organic-looking dot elements were conceived by Bodo Sperlein and have their origin in the designer’s own handprint. A reference to nature and craftsmanship is also exuded by the textile interpretation of the motif. The dotting in this semi-transparent drapery fabric looks crosshatched and is as individual in its outline as its natural prototype. In five soft non-colours, this Trevira CS fabric adds a finely measured touch of exuberance in the contract sector.

The elementary art of interiors. This expressive, large-format design care of Bodo Sperlein has its creative roots in Vorticism, a specifically English contribution to Modernism. Parallel to Cubism, this art form emerged in the early 20th century. Bodo Sperlein has now reinterpreted it for our millennium. As a generous jacquard pattern on a very fine thread cotton base, Blast’s Vorticist Cubist motif reveals its graphic effect in situ convincing us as a flambuoyant eyecatcher.

A flash of textile brilliance. In the same fabric quality as Blast, Bodo Sperlein’s Blitz also displays cubic forms strung together like collages to form an all-over pattern. The jagged shape of its blitz-like lightening radiates sheer energy looking almost like stylised graffiti. Its two colours in three soft colour combinations give the sizable jacquard made of fine-threaded cotton an optical presence without overemphasising the pattern.

A filigree net-work. Bodo Sperlein also holds the creative threads in his hands in this print design that uses nya nordiska’s popular, semi-transparent, top-quality Soufflé CS Uni as its base. Here these threads are linked to form a modern, net-like structure extending, almost coral-like, over the light-as-a-feather base fabric. The natural feel of this wafer-thin drapery product made of Trevira CS makes it ideal for adorning even large window features on commercial premises. With its versatile and vital appearance this creates a natural atmosphere. In a choice of four colours.

Woollen and sustainable. The Bodo Sperlein edition for nya nordiska is rounded off by Boom, an innovative upholstery fabric that can also serve as a heavy drapery. The print design on recycled wool combines the look and feel of its natural material with a sense of sustainability. Combined with a synthetic fibre component, this drapery and upholstery fabric boasts exceptional durability. Its graphic design corresponds to that of Blitz and can be made up without pattern repeats.

Narrow rods are floating on the softly flowing devoré fabric made of cotton and polyester. The extremely successful graphical design from 2010 has now been realized by nya nordiska in 300 cm width, so that the subtle Venetian blind effect of the semi-transparent decoration fabric can be applied even more flexibly. Thanks to improved care properties, Cestino is now also available in washable quality.

Deco-dot-com. With sophisticated looks, a striking touch and modern drape Chelsea “joins the dots” in design terms – in the truest sense of the word. After all, the digitally printed pattern features large dots in pastel shades floating over a white background. These appear like larger-than-life droplets in four colour variations making Chelsea the drapery fabric counterpart to the transparent double-width Piccadilly option of the nya nordiska collection. The unclear, slightly blurry contours of the coloured weave patterns underline the watercolour-like lightness and liveliness of the design. They are created by a complex warp printing process in which the warp threads are printed in colour before weaving and then being interwoven with a single-coloured weft thread. The fibre mix of cotton and polyester combines a dry touch with discreet lustre giving this fabric its relaxed casual look.

The burnt-out fabric Clouds also toys with transparency and opacity in a striped grid, but produces a completely different effect here: its flowingly tapering lines conjure up a delicate, naturalist cloudscape. This alters with changing daylight and becomes more distinct the darker the background. The 300 cm wide fabric is particularly suited for big draperies because it is then that the filigree cloud motif becomes strikingly visible.

Architect style. With Elif, straight-lined Scherlis with a bouclé texture create a decorative 3D effect. The overwoven graphic motifs stand out vividly from the semi-transparent background. Their clear, architectural effect is reinforced by three universally applicable non-colour combinations – in ivory white, natural white and anthracite white, this decorative fabric looks like it was designed on the drawing board. The fluffy bouclé texture provides a feminine counterweight to the masculine straight lines.

Down to a fine art. Fara even spreads Mediterranean flair in northern hemisphere interiors with consummate ease. Its lively wave pattern looks as if immortalized on canvas in large brushstrokes, its colour scheme like a foray into coastal flora. Mimosa, sage and lavender, complemented by terracotta and stone grey, blossom as a warm palette from which one tone and all its shades then extends over a white background. The sophisticated spray-dye printing technology deployed here makes this casual linen-raffia blend suitable for double-face uses – also making an impact when teamed with fabrics like Macao, Karima and Cosmo.

The “textile light figure”. Lucia CS provides interiors with an exclusive air. This jacquard in Trevira CS appears like a combination of silk and linen with its elegant, heavy drape. Dots in a matt weft yarn stand out three-dimensionally from the shimmering background and arouse associations with crescent moons due to their semi-circle array. With lively panache Lucia CS carries over their radiant energy to interiors. Eight background colours ranging from pastel shades to navy and graphite make the dots that are one nuance darker look especially three-dimensional.
