March 2008 | A polyamide weave managed to write company history for already two decades now and receiving 8 design awards, 2 nominees and much approval along the way. How did this happen? The decoration fabric Lia started its career at the trade fair Heimtextil in 1988. There was no stock of the fabric, just a swatch measuring only one square metre, which Heinz Röntgen attached to the red wall of the stand. The fabric, with its structure reminiscent of Japanese paper, was an immediate success and, as it turned out, an unprecedented one.
Lia was extended with many different designs during the following years. The decorative fabric ripened into a series in 18 variations and produced with the base in more than 50 colours. Up until now, over 2.5 million of metres of Lia have been sold.
